#Blessed

Tonight we were talking about how people throw around the word #blessed and how it is used in the bible.

Then we went on to talk about how each of us feel blessed and how we’ve used it for God’s glory.

I’d like take a second [so just sit right there. I’ll tell you how I became a Prince in the town of BelAir 😉 ] to talk about how thankful I am for my many blessings.

One of the things that I am very thankful for is my career. With each day behind the chair my goal is to bless my clients not just in the obvious way, making them look good, but blessing them and making them feel God’s love through me. I was talking to our new ‘Sky Girl,’ that’s what I like to call her, and I told her “love your clients and the money will come.”

Which leads me a little deeper into my thankfulness.

I couldn’t have began my career in the way I desired without David’s help. He blessed me by allowing me the freedom to work into my career, when I was ready. He didn’t rush me or tell me what I needed to do to make it work. God blessed our marriage by allowing us to see how we could sacrifice in some places to live how we needed to. I am thankful I was able to stay home part time and work part time. David gave up his weekends to watch the kids while I worked. Because of the pace which my career took off it allowed me to visualize where I wanted to be as a stylist; to take my time with each client and to really love them.

In all of this I do feel blessed, not just thankful. Because of all the previously mentioned things I feel God is allowing me to use all of this to continue blessing others. By taking the time to engage with my clients I am able to love them and care about them. I am able to bless my partner in Skylight with my organizational and business skills where she blesses me with her creativity, strong confident personality, the ability to know facts about everything, and her networking skills. Because Lauren and I are blessed we are able to further #bless a new stylist by showing/guiding her so she can bless her clients and run her own business.

Maybe I missed the mark on throwing the word blessed around. It’s just that I do feel blessed with all that encompasses my career. I can’t even believe that for my job I get to talk to and encourage other women all day. I am given the opportunity multiple times a day to show God’s love to many different people. I just pray that I do bless my clients every time they are in my chair. That they feel loved, cared for, prayed for, relaxed, beautiful, and on and on and on.

Anyway, It feels good to count my blessings.

Maroon and Violet

This beauty wanted some fun for today! Normally I would do a 6/0 and 20 on her roots and some balayage on her ends. Depending on how she wanted it I’d tone her with a 7NB or an 8C. Just depending on what she was feeling that day.

Today, however, I applied 5/75 and 20 vol at her root about an inch out and then I applied 5/75 with 1″ of violet kicker and 30 vol on her mid shaft. Emulsifying it but not bringing it all the way through her ends.

After blowdrying her bangs I realized I didn’t get the pop of color that I wanted.

So I then applied 5RV, a violet kicker, and Processing solution from her roots to her midlengths.
On the ends I used 9B and Crystal Clear for probably 30 seconds to cancel out a little of the gold without making it ashy.
